As Founder and President of insurance consulting and training firm Agency Performance Partners, for more than a decade Kelly Donahue-Piro has been inspiring clients and conference attendees alike to be “Ridiculously Amazing.” An empathetic visionary, Kelly sees herself and her team not just as expert advisors but as a “BFF” to agency owners, coming alongside with an arm around the shoulder when times are tough and a round of high-fives when success rolls in. Kelly’s professional journey began with a degree in Relationship Marketing from Bentley University in 2003, and she hasn’t hit pause since, serving—among other roles—as Vice President in charge of Client Services for an insurance digital marketing firm once named among America’s fastest growing companies by Inc Magazine. Kelly sees her insurance consulting and training firm (and herself!) as a “BFF” to insurance agency owners: Not only does she bring them “the goods” of transformative training and results-oriented processes and strategies, she and her team come alongside, ready with a comforting arm around the shoulder when times are tough and a high-five when the successes are rolling in. As a highly sought after conference speaker, Kelly draws on her over fifteen years of advisory experience to inspire conferees to become confident, informed, “Ridiculously Amazing” insurance agents.

Kelly’s professional journey began with a Bachelor of Science degree in Relationship Marketing from Bentley University in 2003. She quickly proved to be a client relations and marketing visionary, with fresh ideas and an indomitable spirit that caught the attention of colleagues and clients alike. Following a five-year stint as Vice President in charge of Client Services for a groundbreaking insurance digital marketing firm (named one of America’s fastest growing companies at the time by Inc Magazine), Kelly began specializing in the local insurance agency sector and founded APP in 2014. Her specialties in this role include executive-level coaching and consulting on leadership, benchmarking, agency culture change, retention skills, account rounding, upselling, sales scripting, and much more.

When she’s not huddled with a client partner, creating growth strategies for upcoming quarters, or up on the stage delighting and motivating insurance agents fresh from the trenches, Kelly is likely be found at home snuggling on the couch with her adorable dog America and husband Andrew or perhaps engaging in one of her other favorite pastimes: working out, reading, cooking, or eating. (And as Kelly is quick to point out, the last two go together!)

Known by associates as the “Diva of Insurance” for his bold ideas, infectious positive attitude, and flair for making even technical matters enjoyable to learn, Stephen Harrington-Descoteaux is an expert in insurance agency operations and a uniquely engaging speaker at regional and national conferences. A key member of the team at the insurance consulting and training firm Agency Performance Partners, Stephen believes that every insurance agent is brimming with potential that can be unleashed with the right combination of encouragement and training. Having started out in restaurant and retail management, Stephen brought his management expertise to the insurance industry and obtained his CIC designation in 2009. Since that time he’s built a strong network and a loyal following within the insurance community, demonstrating an uncanny ability both to stay on top of current technology and trends and to explain their significance to others.

A key member of the team at the insurance consulting and training firm Agency Performance Partners, Stephen has a knack for imparting a clear understanding of operational processes in a way that reflects each agency’s unique culture—while ensuring that everyone in the room has a blast as they learn! With over 20 years of management experience, 15 of those in the insurance sector, Stephen is dedicated to empowering agents in the midst of a rapidly changing insurance environment.

Stephen started out in restaurant and retail management before shifting his focus to the insurance industry, obtaining his CIC designation in 2009. Since that time he has built a strong network and a loyal following within the insurance community, demonstrating an uncanny ability both to stay on top of current technology and trends and to translate their significance to others. His years of coaching have convinced him that every agent is brimming with potential that can be unleashed with the right combination of encouragement and training.

When Stephen isn’t immersed in a trade publication or sharing a useful HawkSoft hack with one of his clients, you’re likely to find him doting over his two dogs, two cats, chickens, and nearly 30 houseplants, building a Lego masterpiece, or exploring the land in his fifth wheel.

A gifted process analyst with a remarkable knack for solving both number and people problems, Bobbie Fernandez is a key member of the insurance consulting and training firm Agency Performance Partners and an in-demand speaker at regional and national conferences. With over 20 years of experience in the insurance industry, Bobbie is known for her ability to infuse fun into practical training methods and transform overly “comfortable” insurance teams into efficient, motivated, victorious forces. Having started out as a receptionist (aka Director of First Impressions), Bobbie studied for and passed her insurance licensing exam in secret, then brought her new credentials to her boss, who promptly assigned her a personal lines desk and a set of lofty sales goals. She smashed them, thus launching a stellar career in insurance sales and, eventually, agency consulting.

Starting out her career as a receptionist (aka Director of First Impressions), Bobbie was intrigued by how one of the seasoned account managers in her office seemed to manage clients with ease. Inspired, Bobbie studied for and passed the insurance licensing exam in secret, then brought her new credentials to her boss and asked to be considered for a higher position. She got it. The company promptly assigned her a personal lines desk and a set of lofty sales goals, which she smashed. Soon she had joined the agency leadership team and was handling high-value, top-tier customers and managing specialty risks. In the 20 years since that first venture into the insurance industry, Bobbie has honed a broad skill set that enables her to not only exude confidence but engender self-confidence in others. A recipient of the California Customer Service Representative of the year award, Bobbie’s mission is to guide agencies in creating positive change within their organizations, fostering an environment of communication, feedback, innovation, and accountability.

When she’s not conferring with a client, helping them create actionable plans to reach their goals, Bobbie may be found at her home in Knoxville, rewarding her two very good dogs with treats or preparing to babysit her grandchildren for the evening. (Yes, believe it or not she has two of those as well!)
